Firstly, it wasn't really a camp since we didn't even have to sleep in school. And I think this is the first ever Art 'camp', I don't know why they had to do it. But anyway it wasn't that bad la. On the first day, we went to the Dragon Kiln (which was far far away at some ulu place) and did glazing, but majority of the clay turned out black after the firing 'cause we didn't paint enough layers. And I think mine exploded some more, haha whatever. We were given a tour around the factory and viewed some exhibits, yeah some were damn real I couldn't even tell that they were made from clay. What left me with the deepest impression was the 500 clay flowers! The artist is going to make like a thousand more of those flowers and make them into a 3-metre chandelier and display it at don't know where and light it up for a few seconds before it's going to be dropped from the ceiling and shatter into pieeeeeeeces! Woah damn artistic ah. I feel so honoured to have touched the flowers :D After the visit to the kiln we went back to school for lunch, McDonald's! They ordered burgers and apple pies for us, but my McChicken wasn't a special order so I spent like five minutes using serviettes to clean off the tar tar sauce :S We edited our art club t-shirts with fabric paint 'cause apparently it's not approved because we've got 'major artitude problem', and so the school has a problem with the word 'problem'. Then started our ORA discussion, it's kind of cool 'cause the art rooms are going to be transformed into a haunted house (House of War) during ORA :D And then we were dismissed two hours early 'cause we had nothing much to do already.
On the second day we had a Wire Sculpture workshop conducted by The Male Art Teacher, was pretty cool. We each made a sculpture and mounted it on a wooden board, looks damn professional! My sculpture has no proportional sense la, actually I don't think I'm artistic or anything of that sort at all, letting me get into Art Club is probably the club's mistake. And then after the sculpture workshop we went to Red Dot Design Museum to look at some coolio ideas, but I don't see how it was related to Art. I was damn hungry but I didn't bring snacks and there weren't really shops to buy food from so like lunch was the only thing I was looking forward to. Went back to school for lunch, chicken sandwich. Oh my god la please, sticky chicken and onions and tomato and lettuce in croissant do not interest me. But I was really so freaking hungry I had to eat la, gosh I felt like I'm in some Survivor Singapore game. It was really unglam 'cause I used my fingers to pick out the onions from the chicken. Um then we watched 'The Day After Tomorrow' from lunch till the photographer came to share with us on photography, finished half the movie only though. The photographer came and gave a little talk, we all weren't listening, sadly. Partly 'cause his photographs were not really that pretty and meaningful, or maybe too abstract. I feel quite bad 'cause throughout his sharing session we just kept talking and doing all sorts of nonsense, I think we really insulted him :(
The third day of Art Camp was quite dull and super slack. I went to look for Miss Chia for CmPS so I could skip part of it. Anyway I called the office and was like, 'May I speak to Chia Ming Huei?'. Oh my god I was damn embarrassed! She asked me why I called her by her full name, hahaha. But she's very nice she didn't show any resentment/whatever towards me :) In the end I spent one hour at her office talking about CmPS! Then half the day was spent on ORA preparations. I'm in the publicity committee and we had to do posters using Photoshop. And I was really scared when I cropped this scary woman's face on the House of Wax poster, I was like half a metre away from the screen when I did editing! Plus only the seven of us (Alicia, Beatrice, Fu Ying, Madeline, Sandra, Yi Yue and I) from publicity were in the shaw lab, and Yi Yue (she was my senior in Art Club in Kong Hwa also!) was telling ghost stories, freaked me out so badly! Sally, I'm out to get you... I'm on the nineth step... That one got me, I totally jerked, no, I had this sudden spasm! And after editing the first poster we edited another one by putting this translucent pontianak in the the Tale of Two Sisters poster, the pontianak looked damn scary I didn't dare to crop her so Alicia helped me. We stayed in the lab till 3PM and Art Jam was gonna start but we all didn't wanna go down so another senior had to come up to call us down. We were put into different groups for Art Jam, each group consisted of one member from each level, yeah. We had to do some fantasy grafitti so my group came up a greedy mermaid thing, hahaha was quite lame -.-
Me: We can put a mole at the mermaid's mouth there 'cause like usually people see the mole and they will think that the person is evil.
Dorcas: Are you implying something?
HAHAHA, Dorcas has a mole at her mouth.
We got to try spray painting on drafts first before starting on the real thing. But yeah I went home early with an excuse letter 'cause I didn't want to stay till 9PM ;) I only stayed to witness the tail of the greedy mermaid being sprayed on, I don't know how the completed work looks like. Okay now I feel that I shouldn't have left early 'cause Art Jam was quite fun!
Today was my first free day since March holidays started, and I spent it on MobTV and a little of homework. I'm going out to queue for donuts tomorrow so I guess I'm staying up today to finish Math or something.
